STOCKTON, CA - A 33-year-old Stockton man was killed inside his home Thursday night by gunfire directed at people in front of his home.
Stockton police spokeswoman Roseann Clark said the bullets came from a car driving east on the street and were aimed at three people walking in the other direction.
The man's name was not released and police didn't think the shooting was connected to a string of recent deadly gang attacks.
A man who recently moved to the south Stockton neighborhood said shootings have become a regular nighttime occurrence.
"It's gotta be weekly at the least. I had no idea it's as violent as it is," said John Bardo.
Thursday's killing was the fifth in south Stockton in the last 10 days.
