SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento resident was sexually assaulted when a burglar broke into a home Sunday around 2 a.m.

The man entered through an unlocked back door of a home on the 4800 block of Kokomo Drive and robbed the victim at gunpoint, Sacramento Police Officer Laura Peck said.

During the burglary, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim, Peck said.

"It's very upsetting; it's very unnerving," said Wendy Lockhart, who lives in the same apartment complex where the attack happened.

The burglar is described as a black man, 20 to 30 years old and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a hooded sweat shirt and dark pants, Peck said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES).

Police are investigating two other recent home invasions in South Natomas to see if they are connected to Sunday morning's incident.

In both home invasions, police said the suspect with a similar description entered through an open garage door early in the morning and robbed the male victim at gunpoint.

"It's kind of scary to know that there's more than one situation going on, possibly a few, and that it could actually happen again," Natomas resident Connie Robertson said.
