LOS ANGELES, CA - NBA Commissioner David Stern confirmed that Kings co-owners Joe and Gavin Maloof have had discussions with Anaheim about a possible move to Orange County.
"I do know, because I read it in the newspaper that they supposed to have had discussions with Orange County, and they have," said Stern in his State of the League address.
Stern also said even though he and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson often speak, the league will take a hands off approach to a new Sacramento arena.
"We and they have tried really hard to see if a new buidling could be built," said Stern. "And with the collaspe of the last attempt which took a few years and several million dollars, on behalf of the league I said we are not going to spend anymore time on that, that is for the Maloofs and the people of Sacramento and I don't know where that is right now."
