SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police don't have much to go on as they look for the person who gunned down a man Monday afternoon.

Officer Laura Peck with the Sacramento Police Department said officers were flagged down just before 3 p.m. by a person reporting a shooting at 5005 Mack Road in south Sacramento. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound between the Cedar Ridge Apartments complex and the Church of Christ. The man, who was in his 20s, was transported to a local hospital where he died, according to Peck.

The victim has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner's office as 20-year-old Antonne Ray Nelms of Sacramento.

Officers don't have a description of the shooter and were canvassing the area, looking for witnesses.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 443-HELP.
