SACRAMENTO, CA - Black Friday shoppers were a little too anxious to get inside the Walmart on Florin Road Friday morning. SLIDESHOW: Black Friday shopping
Crowds pushed their way into the electronics section, overwhelming store employees and security, according to officials.
Sacramento County sheriff's deputies were called to assist with crowd control -- but instead of blaming shoppers, they blame Wal-mart.
"They should have had more security present and had a more organized entry into the store," said Sgt. Brendon Hom. "They shouldn't have been able to congregate in the electronics section like they did."
Shoppers were asked to evacuate the store and line up outside.
"People were pushing and shoving when they got the camera and computer aisle," said shopper Joe Gonzales. "They had a little roped off area and when they clipped it at 5 a.m., people started fighting."
Once deputies were able to reorganize the crowds, shoppers were allowed back into the store a dozen at a time.
