FOLSOM, CA - Two men were in custody after what Folsom police said was a drug deal in which at least seven shots were fired. No one was hit.

Folsom Police Department Officer Jason Browning said officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Turnpike Drive a little after 10 Sunday night for a report of shots fired. Officers found shell casings in the street and noted a white Mercedes leaving the area but no shooter.

About 20 minutes later, police spotted the Mercedes on East Bidwell Street and stopped it, Browning said. Officers learned information that connected the driver and car's occupants to the Turnpike Drive shooting, Browning said. A search of the car turned up cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, and packaging material, said Browning. The driver, Jeffrey Jurgens, 19, of Citrus Heights, was arrested for possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.

Information from the traffic stop and Jurgens' arrest led officers to the 100 block of John Henry Circle where they made a probation search of the residence of Dustin Paiz, 22. Browning said officers found marijuana, a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and a shotgun. Paiz was arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms, possession of a narcotic (illegal prescription), possession of an illegal weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Paiz had a doctor's recommendation for the marijuana and was not charged with possession of pot.

Jurgens and Paiz were booked into Sacramento County Jail. Paiz' bail was set at $95,000 and Jurgens' bail was set at $20,000.
