FAIRFIELD, Calif. (AP) -- Police say one person was shot and killed during a fight between two adults and their associates at a Fairfield high school.
The shooting in the parking lot of Armijo High School occurred around 9 p.m. Monday. Fairfield police Lt. Darrin Moody says the two groups of people had arranged to meet there to settle a feud.
Neither party had any association with the school or a school function.
Moody said as the two adults began to fight, one of the associates opened fire with a handgun. The victim, who has not been identified, was hit several times.
Police are still investigating, and no arrests have been reported.
School is expected to be in session on Tuesday.
