DAVIS, CA - Davis police say they've been seeing a number of unlocked doors, windows and sliding glass doors in a string of recent residential burglaries.

Lt. Glenn Davis said the police department has received 21 burglary reports in the last two weeks. Electronics, laptop computers, purses, jewelry and gaming systems have been taken.

The thefts have taken place varying times of the day and all over town, with 10 in west Davis, five in south Davis, four in central Davis and two in east Davis.

The Davis Police Department advises keeping doors, windows, garages, sliding glass doors and gates locked when both away and at home.

Report suspicious activity such as people walking or driving or slowly cruising up and down the street and/or checking doors and looking in windows, backyards and cars.

And go with your gut: If something doesn't look or feel right, report it to police.
