Man, dog killed in Vallejo hit and run

VALLEJO, CA - Vallejo police investigating the hit and run death of a man and his dog Thursday morning hope a witness or the involved driver with come forward.

The victims, a 64-year-old resident of Vallejo and his dog, were struck on Louisiana Street east of the intersection of Louisiana and Sutter streets sometime before 8:30 a.m., according to police Lt. Lee Horton. Police officers found the dog dead and the man with major injuries.

The pedestrian was transported to Northbay Hospital in Fairfield but did not survive his injuries, Horton said.

The victim's name was not being released until his relatives were told.

It wasn't clear what kind of vehicle hit the man and his dog.
