Man shot outside south Sacramento liquor store

SACRAMENTO, CA - A man was injured after being shot outside of a liquor store Friday night.

The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. outside of the City Food & Liquor, at 7121 Franklin Boulevard, Sacramento County sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos said.

The 20-year-old victim was initially thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries and transported to the hospital for treatment. Deputies were told around midnight by doctors that the victim is expected to survive.

Ramos said the motive behind the shooting is unclear.

Witnesses told deputies conflicting reports about the shooter, or shooters. One person reported seeing a male in a dark hoodie and black jeans, another reported a male wearing a white t-shirt.

Ramos said detective continue to investigate the shooting.
