GREAT HANG UP: One big issue for road safety is the proper use of car seats and this week the push is on to make sure they are used correctly.
Safety experts say three out of four seats are not used properly. Common mistakes include the seats being too loose or the straps too loose or not in the right place.
On Monday September 17th a free car seat check will be held at:
- Mercy San Juan
- 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
- from the Office of Traffic Safety, Safekids and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
If you can't make it the California Highway Patrol can check or install yours for free.
- Call the CHP Office nearest you to make an appointment.
A reminder about California State Law:
All children must be in a car or booster seta, preferably in the backs eat when possible, until they are 4'9"tall or 8 years old.
