STOCKTON, CA - A 90-year-old Stockton woman was badly hurt by a robber hiding out in her home. The great-grandmother spoke out about the attack, hoping it'll help police find the man who beat her up.

According to police, the woman walked into her garage Thursday afternoon to move her laundry from her washing machine to her dryer. When she encountered the suspect inside the closed garage, he grabbed her.

"The last thing she remembers is he put hand over her mouth,"  the victim's daughter Lynn Young said.

The victim passed out. The only thing she remembers then is getting off the floor of the garage and walking inside to sit down.

A neighbor who came by shortly afterward ended up calling 911. The victim suffered major injuries to her face and head.

"He knocked seven teeth out of her face, broke her nose. You know, she has stitches in her face, stitches in her hands," the victim's daughter Georgia Hogue said.

"I was quite shocked," the victim said. "I wasn't aware something so dangerous was happening to me."

The woman was home alone when the attack happened. Even though the garage door was closed, the woman said the robber must have gotten through a back door that was open.

Loved ones believe the robber was startled when the woman came into the garage.

"Why the violence. I don't get that," Hogue said. "That's what I don't get. Why'd they have to hurt her? Ransack the house, but leave her alone."

According to police, the suspect entered the victim's home after grabbing her and stole her wallet, credit card, and cash.

The victim's family said this was the second time the victim was robbed. The first time happened three months ago and fortunately, the woman was not home at the time.

"It's sad. Very sad for stockton, for the neighborhood. This is one of the older established neighborhoods," neighbor Patty Pallesen said.

Friends, family and neighbors of the victim are all speaking out, hoping that the attacker will be caught sooner rather than later.
