My Neighborhood

The Concept:

Every day, hundreds of stories pour into the News10 newsroom, but only a fraction of them make it into our daily newscasts or on News10.net...until now.

Our new "My Neighborhood" websites are solely devoted to covering neighborhood stories and events that are important to the communities in our area.

Calling All Writers:

In addition to stories generated by our news team, we're signing up a team of writers, bloggers, PR professionals and local neighborhood organizations to post news reports, community bulletins, event announcements, restaurant openings, photos and videos directly on these websites.

There are also lots of ways people living in the community can contribute by sending in stories, photos of what's going on in their area, sharing their opinions, writing reviews and more!

  3. As a blogger, how can News10 My Neighborhood sites help increase my blog traffic?

While each neighborhood community allows you to upload individual stories, photos and videos to the site by creating a login and clicking on the "Submit a story" link, News10 is also partnering with bloggers and local websites to help them gain exposure and grow their web traffic.

If you blog about food, family, health issues, animals, local shopping or trends AND your blog has an RSS feed, let us know. We can add your RSS feed to select My Neighborhood communities. The feed would show the RSS tease paragraph and photograph on the News10 My Neighborhood site. It would then link back to your site to read the rest of the entry to help boost your traffic.

To learn more about how this would work, email writer@news10.net.

  4. Can PR professionals submit content about local events and businesses?
