On Monday, November 22nd, Nintendo of America announced that the company would be returning to the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2011. This would mark the first time in 16 years that the video game company powerhouse had made an appearance at the trade show.
Since then, independant video game website Ripten.com refuted that annoucement by stating that "Nintendo will NOT be attending CES after all", citing that the gaming company was mistakenly added to CES' official list of exhibitors. As it turns out, this is not so.
In an exclusive email to The Game Guys on news10.net, Nintendo has confirmed that the company will indeed be officially attending the 2011 International CES.
"Nintendo of America has booked meeting room space at the 2011 CES but...will not be making any announcements about current or upcoming products during the show," wrote Charlie Scibetta, Senior Director of Corporate Communications for Nintendo of America.
Tara Dunion, an official for the 2011 Internation CES has confirmed this with The Game Guys via email, stating "Nintendo will be at the 2011 CES in meeting room space and will be listed as an exhibitor."
However, while the gaming company is officially attending the trade show, Nintendo will not have any exhibition space reserved on the CES showfloor.
