On October 27, 2012, millions of Americans are expected to roll up their sleeves and band together to help others as part of Make A Difference Day 2012.

As News10's contribution to the nationwide effort, volunteers will be participating a mini-makeover and book drive at the South Natomas Library.

Similar volunteerism efforts and donation drives will be hosted to support libraries in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Yolo, Colusa and Sacramento Counties.

News10 would love for our viewers participate in Make A Difference Day 2012, either by attending one of the many library support events, or by creating their own projects.

If you're interested in developing your own Make A Difference Day project, the Hands on Network has made it easy to create, promote and host a successful event.

Simply review the Make A Difference Day 5-Step Getting Started Guide to learn how to register and launch your project.

Good luck with your event and thank you for helping to make a difference!
