SEGA to purchase Atlus parent company Index

According to Japanese web site Nikkei, SEGA Sammy (commonly just known as SEGA) will be acquiring Index Corporation's gaming business.  The transaction is said to be valued at ¥14B, ($141 million in U.S. currency).

Index's gaming business includes Atlus, developer and publisher of games such as the Persona series and Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millennium Girl, the latter of which will be releasing October 1st in North America.

Index put its gaming division up for sale to help deal with its current debt of ¥24.5B ($242.9 million).

The deal should be complete in November.
