Blizzard is soon to remove one of the biggest features - the Auction House - from its 2012 hit PC game Diablo III.
"It became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the [Auction House] system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo's core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot," stated Blizzard developer John Hight. "With that in mind, we want to let everyone know that we've decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III."
Hight went on to say that it is the company's belief that the Loot 2.0 system being developed alongside the game's Reaper of Souls expansion will provide a much more rewarding experience for players than the Auction House ever was.
The Auction House's removal is scheduled to occur on March 18, 2014. The Reaper of Souls expansion is also slated for a 2014 release.
