Project Shield from Nvidia.
Nvidia has announced that it is now shipping its Shield portable gaming platform, powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 4 microprocessor.
Originally to be released in June, the company delayed its launch by roughly a month due to mechanical issues.
The Android-based gaming platform will be available at retailers such as GameStop and Microcenter, as well as Canada Computers north of the US-Canada border. It will also be available for purchase online.
The device supports PCs running Nvidia's GeForce GTX, and allow players to access games downloaded from Valve online service Steam through a Wi-Fi connection.
It retails for $299.
