The Green Lantern in MMO 'DC Universe Online'.
When Sony's PlayStation 4 launches later this year, it will boast a fairly robust day-one library of games. Amongst those is the MMO DC Universe Online.
The game has been out for some time on PC and PlayStation 3, but Sony Online Entertainment has recently opted to port over the title to PS4 to allow early adopters of the new hardware the chance to either continue their old game or begin anew.
Luckily, PS4 players won't have to start with a brand new and possibly sparsely populated online game. PS3 and PS4 players will be playing side-by-side, which is something DCUO producer Larry Liberty finds quite important.
"It's critical that we remove any possible barriers of entry and kind of keep our players engaged," he stated during E3 2013.
PlayStation 3 DCUO players who do decide to make the jump to the new console this autumn will be allowed to make the move without incurring any costs to do so.
Liberty states that the PlayStation 4 version of DCUO will be superior to the game's existing experience thanks to the console's hardware.
"We can have full HD visuals, smoother frame rate, so basically a smoother performance all around," he boasted. "And that's just the beginning."
DC Universe Online is a free-to-play game obtainable through the PlayStation Store.
