Believe it or not, but EA Sports' Madden video game series has been around since the late 1980's.  1988, to be exact, and did you know that John Madden Football lacked the NFL license until 1993 and didn't receive the blessing of the NFLPA until the year after?

Taking note of factoids like those, the Game Guys look back at 25 years of Madden beginning with the John Madden Football on the Commodore 64 all the way to Madden NFL 25, which releases for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this August.

For those who keep tally, the Madden franchise has appeared on 30 different gaming platforms over the years: Commodore 64, Apple II, Macintosh, Mac OS X, MS-DOS, Windows, SEGA Genesis, SEGA Game Gear, SEGA Saturn, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, PS Vita, Xbox, Xbox 360, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and 3DO.
