'Dead or Alive 5 Plus' for PlayStation Vita.
Team NINJA, the company behind the development of Dead or Alive 5 Plus for PlayStation Vita, has detailed how the game's cross-platform functionality will work between the portable Vita and PlayStation 3 home video game console.
Hardware icons will be displayed next to each player's name during cross-platform battles to indicate on what hardware the game is being played. Battles will run at 60fps. Team NINJA says there will be no visual slowdown regardless of which platform the game is on. All characters unlocked on the PS3 are accessible on the Vita (and visa-versa). Finally, in-game rankings will show whether the rank was achieved on the PS3 or Vita.
Because both the PS3 and Vita use the PlayStation Store, all purchased DLC for DOA5 will be shared with DOA5+. This includes the more than 100 character costumes already released as DLC.
Cross-Platform Saves and Unlocked Content:
Games saved on the Vita can be accessed via the PlayStation 3 (and visa-versa). Also, all unlocked in-game content is also transferable between the two platforms. Finally, all new stages added to Dead or Alive 5 for PS3 will also be added to Dead or Alive 5 Plus for Vita.
Dead or Alive 5 Plus is being developed by Team NINJA and will be published by Tecmo Koei. Due out on March 19, the ESRB has rated this game 'T for Teen'.
