December 17, 2012, marks the 25th Anniversary of Capcom's iconic Mega Man character.  To celebrate, the video game company is planning a year of promotions.

Kicking off the celebration is Street Fighter X Mega Man, a new free Mega Man game available for PC download as of today.  A true collaboration between a company and its fans, Street Fighter X Mega Man was created and developed by Singapore native Seow Zong Hui (aka "Sonic") with direction and support provided by Capcom.  The game stars Mega Man and features eight brand-new Street Fighter-themed levels and bosses inspired by the legendary fighting game series.  Each boss character will utilize their individual strategies and special moves against Mega Man, as players attempt to mega blast their way through each uniquely charming 8-bit world.

Capcom has also stated plans to release the side-scrolling classics Mega Man through Mega Man 6 as downloads for Nintendo 3DS throughout the next year.  Beginning December 27 with the original Mega Man game, these 8-bit classics will be available in a staggered schedule into 2013.
