Square Enix has made its multiplayer Tomb Raider game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light free-to-play on the company's Core Online platform.  Core Online is the company's in-house service that offers high definition games in users' internet browser for free.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light joins other titles currently available on Core Online such as Hitman: Blood Money and Gyromancer.

"This is a great game for Core Online, the gameplay is the perfect mix of pick-up-and-play and challenging single player action.  It's exciting for Lara Croft to join Agent 47 on [the service] and we look forward to more guests in the near future." said David Guldbrandsen, General Manager of Square Enix's studio in Copenhagen.

Originally launched in 2010, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light tells the story of Lara Croft and Totec, a 2,000 year old Mayan Warrior, who work together to stop the evil spirit Xolotl and retrieve the Mirror of Smoke.

Square-Enix states that further titles from the company's catalog are intended to be made available soon.
