'Madden 13' from EA Sports.
Electronic Arts' hit NFL video game scored big at retail once again.
The sports title Madden NFL 13 snagged a franchise record for launch-day sales, tallying 900,000 on Tuesday. It also set a new benchmark for online activity on its first day of availability.
Citing internal estimates, EA says sales were up 7% compared with last year, during which predecessor Madden NFL 12 sold 1.4 million copies in the first week.
"Madden NFL 13 is the most innovative entry the franchise has ever seen and we're thrilled that fans have embraced it with such a huge first day," said EA Sports Executive Vice President Andrew Wilson in a statement.
This year's game features several key changes, including an overhaul of the technology used to simulate tackling and revamped career modes. For more details on the game, check out our Madden NFL 13 review.
