British independent video game developer Elite Systems has submitted its first Xbox LIVE title, Maniac Miner 360, to Microsoft for review.

Manic Miner was originally a title for the ZX Spectrum, an 8-bit personal home computer released in the UK in 1982. This new version of the game is a near-100% ZX Spectrum original as written by Matthew Smith in 1983 and is being brought to Xbox Live Indy Games as an officially licensed product.

The Xbox 360 version of Maniac Miner's new features include full-screen and bordered portrait play / display modes, pixel filtering on / off option, and authentic 'Spectrum' audio. Maniac Miner 360 will also have auto-save support and the option to play with infinite lives.

Elite Systems should find out in the near future whether or not their title is approved for Xbox LIVE Arcade.
