Tech company SoftFocus has released its SolarKindle accessory for Amazon's Kindle and Kindle Touch, stating that it is the world's first solar powered e-reader cover.

The SolarKindle is designed to allow people to use either type of Kindle without actually using any of the e-reader's battery.  SoftFocus claims the solar powered case will provide as much as three months of unplugged Kindle reading time under normal conditions.  The case also has a built-in LED reading lamp that can be powered for up to fifty hours off of the solar charge.

According to the company, hone hour of collected solar energy from direct sunlight is equivelant to three days of power for both types of Kindle e-readers.

SoftFocus has listed the SolarKindle e-reader cover at $79.99USD.
