It's the time of year where those emails with the subject heading "Governor Brown Issues Legislative Update" can stop a Capitol reporter dead in his or her tracks.
Ah, it's bill signing season.
This week's Capitol Connection podcast comes as Brown's deadline fast approaches. So as not to automatically date our conversation, we stick to bills on which the governor has already acted -- from his broad, national strokes on illegal immigration to his reticence to accept changes to the process by which a teacher can be fired.
Anthony York of the Los Angeles Times and I also briefly examine the coming GOP campaign for governor next year, which kicked off this past weekend at the state party's fall convention.
You can make sure you'll never miss a podcast (and thus be sure that it was us missing a week of recording) by subscribing to the Capitol Connection podcast feed on either SoundCloud or iTunes.
